Winter Carnival - Jan. 1 through Feb. 29

Sponsored by the Hilton Head Area Hospitality Association. The carnival includes events such as jazz, a food and wine tasting,
special kayaking tours, a black-tie opera performance, an art
exhibit, beach tours and road races.

SpringFest - March 2008

SpringFest is a month long, island wide series of events celebrating spring as the unofficial welcome of the coming season, featuring the Chocolate Fair, WineFest, HealthFest, WingFest, and SweetTastes. Special arts demonstrations, kayak clinics and tours, road races, golf and tennis tournaments and musical concerts also contribute to the celebration. Youth Arts Fest is a daylong event sponsored by the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina, features childrens' choirs, kids art and activities just for youngsters.

The Hilton Head Island St. Patrick's Day Parade and the  Savannah St. Patrick's Day Parade are other big events that are happening in the Lowcountry during March.
 


Wine Fest - March 8, 2008, 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.

The East Coast’s Largest Outdoor Public Tasting and Auction. Held at Shelter Cove Community Park.
Wine Fest’s public tasting provides the opportunity for attendees to taste more than 1000 different wines and to meet, talk with, and learn from some of the world's most knowledgeable wine experts.

Ladies Golf Classic - April 11, 2008

The chamber is pairing up with Pink Magazine to host the fourth annual Ladies Golf Classic. Players of every skill level are encouraged to participate. There will be a continental breakfast and a lunch reception along with great tournament prizes. The team wearing the best pink golf attire will also win a prize. Held at Bear Creek Golf Club.

Verizon Heritage Golf Tournament - April 14-20, 2008

The Verizon Heritage, South Carolinas only PGA TOUR event, is recognized as one of the premier golf tournaments in the country. Played at the famed Harbour Town Golf Links in The Sea Pines Resort since 1969, the event has rich history of giving back to the community. This year's purse has been raised to $5,500,000!

Independence Day Celebrations - July 4, 2008

July Fourth celebrations take place at Harbour Town, Shelter Cove Harbour and Skull Creek Marina on Hilton Head Island. Food, music, crafts, magic shows and face painting for children are topped
off with fireworks displays at each location.


53rd Annual Beaufort Water Festival - July 11 - 20, 2008

The first festival was held in July, 1956 with John Bigbee serving as the first President and Gladys Thompson in charge of the visiting queens. The Lions Club took the job of putting on the first
parade and has been doing so every year since. Activities and Events include Jet Ski and Water
Ski Demonstrations, Children's Fishing Tournament, Arts & Crafts Market, Concerts in the park,
Fireworks, Teen Dance and a Grand Parade. There will also be an Air Show to conclude the Event.

11th Annual Food Fest 2008 - September 8-13, 2008

The first Food Fest was held in 1997 and has continued to grow in popularity each year. More than 4,000 local residents and visitors attended the event last year, with the number expected to increase this year with the expansion of the festivals timeframe from a five-hour one-day offering to a multi-day food focused celebration. A celebration that includes more than 13 events and activities - some free of charge and some ticketed for admission.
