Rod Engard has been involved in Real Estate Sales, Management and Marketing since 1975 after graduating from the Citadel in Charleston, SC. 

His expertise in new home sales, brokerage properties, rentals and getting the job done has been characteristic of his career.  He has bought, listed, sold and managed real estate in South Carolina at Fripp Island, Wild Dunes in Charleston, Litchfield Company at Pawley's Island and has come back home to Hilton Head Island.

Rod was past National Director for the state of S.C. with the local Home Builder's Association and in 1984 he was selected as President of the Hilton Head Board of Realtors.  In 1997, the town of Hilton Head selected Rod as a commissioner for the Affordable Housing Commission.

Currently, Rod Engard is serving a fourth term as a Board of Trustees Member for the Hilton Head Island Multiple Listing Service. The local board was started in 1976 and services 9 counties in the Low Country.Rod is also the author of “Cadet Stories”, a book about the military college in South Carolina, The Citadel, from 1964 to 1994. All profits from the book go to the "Courvosie Scholarship Fund".  The book is now in its third printing.

• Rod formed Engard Real Estate Company in 1996 as a full service sales and marketing company for property on Hilton Head Island, Bluffton and the Low Country of South Carolina.
   
• In 1999, we formed Engard Rental Company to assist our clients in managing and renting their property.
